Rute Morais Peixoto profile portrait

Rute Morais Peixoto is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist and architect based in Helsinki, Finland. Combining visual art, architecture, and music, her work explores themes of perception, memory, emotion, diversity, obsessive geometrical alignments, and the constant pursuit of singularities in the ordinary. Rute's practice spans media art, paper collage, painting, illustration, songwriting, interior and building design.

Holding an MArch with distinction from the Faculty of Architecture of Porto, she also studied at University of Ljubljana and the Music Conservatory of Porto. Rute has collaborated with renowned studios, including Souto de Moura, Siza Vieira, Fala Atelier, and Lundén Architecture Oy, and has been teaching periodically at Aalto University since 2022.

Her main ongoing project, Living Rooms, has been supported by two working grants from Taike. It centres on audiovisual portraits exploring the emotional connections we form with intimate rooms.
